Woman Trying to Flag Down Bus Fatally Struck on Beechnut Street
Houston, Texas (March 20, 2017) – A woman died early Monday when she was struck by a vehicle while trying to stop a Metro bus, according to a Houston Police Department Report.
The accident took place at about at about 6:10 a.m. today at 11300 Beechnut Street near Boone, according to the HPD repot
As per the report, a woman was in the middle of the road trying to flag down a bus when a White Toyota Tacoma pickup truck struck her. The woman died at the scene. Her name was not immediately released pending family notification.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene. He was not suspected of driving while intoxicated and released after being questioned.
The police closed Beechnut Street at the scene for about an hour.
