Wise County, TX – One person was killed after a vehicle rear-ended a trailer on US-287 in Wise County on Monday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The accident happened at about 4:20 p.m. on September 9, 2024. on Northbound US-287 near FM-407.
According to DPS, a preliminary investigation indicated that Houston Gabriel Olthoff, 39, from Fort Worth, was driving a 2007 Dodge 15001 northbound on US-287 when he rear-ended the trailer of a 2015 Peterbilt towing a box trailer operated by Martin Felix Gonzalez-Aceves, 48.

DPS said Olthoff was Transported to Medical City Decatur where he was pronounced dead by medical staff.
Gonzalez-Aceves was not injured in the incident.
No additional information regarding the accident was provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
