Isabel Small, San Juanita De La Cruz, Victor Martinez and Four Others Killed in Carrizo Springs Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 1433
Carrizo Springs, Texas – Seven people were killed Thursday afternoon in a head-on collision, about eight miles north of Carrizo Springs, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal crash happened around 4:40 p.m., on June 6, on FM 1433.
DPS said a black Chrysler 300 was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when it lost control and veered onto the wrong side of the road where it crashed head-on into an eastbound 1998 red Dodge pickup.
The Chrysler then rolled into a ditch and caught on fire.
All four people in the Chrysler were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and two of the passengers of the Dodge were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as Isabel Small, 50; San Juanita De La Cruz, 64; and Victor Manuel Martinez, 83, all from Crystal City, Texas.
Two children also in the Dodge were airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio in unknown conditions.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
