Jose Palacios Killed in Bicycle Accident on U.S. Highway 281 Military in Alamo

Jose Palacios ID’d as Cyclist Killed in Alamo Crash on U.S. Highway 281 Military near Green Jay Road
Alamo, Texas (October 28, 2018) – The cyclist who was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday afternoon in Alamo has been identified as Jose Luis Palacios, 64, of San Juan, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The fatal accident happened at around 12:38 p.m. October 27, on U.S. Highway 281 Military, just east of Green Jay Road.
DPS said Palacios was cycling westbound on the highway when he was struck by a westbound Kenworth tractor-tanker driven by Francisco Hernandez-Muniz of Reynosa in Mexico.
Palacios died at the scene.
Hernandez-Muniz was arrested on a felony charge of criminal negligent homicide, DPS said.
The crash remains under investigation.
