Man Fatally Struck by Racing Driver at Payton Gin Road and Research Boulevard in North Austin

One Killed in North Austin Street Racing Crash at Payton Gin Road and Research Boulevard
Austin, Texas (December 5, 2018) – A man in his 40s was killed Tuesday night after a street racer struck his car in North Austin, according to the Austin police.
The deadly crash was reported at about 8:39 p.m. December 4, at the intersection of Payton Gin Road and Research Boulevard.
Police said the man was driving southbound on Research Boulevard and slowed to turn onto Payton Gin Road when his car was struck by one of two vehicles which were racing northbound.
The man was killed in the crash. The street racer, a man in his 20s, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The second racer fled the scene and police are looking for the suspect.
The police are investigating the crash.
