Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash with Passenger Car on SH 7 in Nacogdoches
Nacogdoches, TX – One person was killed following a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car on State Highway 7 (SH7) East on Friday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The deadly two-vehicle crash happened at about 8:40 p.m. Friday, July 5, on State Highway East near County Road.
According to the DPS, a man was riding a Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle westbound on SH 7 and was being followed by a silver 2018 Hyundai Elantra. The motorcycle rider slowed to make a left turn into a private drive and was rear-ended by the Hyundai.
The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
EMS crews responded to the scene and transported the Hyundai Driver by ambulance to Nacogdoches Medical Center for treatment of possible injuries. It was determined that the driver was not injured in the incident.
Authorities said the driver showed signs of intoxication and faces intoxication charges.
The incident remains under investigation.
