Michael Farris Dies in ATV Collision on SH-21 in Madison County
Madison County, TX – A 65-year-old man died after an ATV collided with a vehicle on State Highway 21 in Madison County, according to Texas DPS.
Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers said the two-vehicle accident happened at about 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, on State Highway 21 at Northside Lane.

According to DPS, a preliminary investigation indicated that a 2022 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on State Highway 21. At the same time, the operator of a 2014 Kubota ATV, identified as Michael Farris, 65, of Mideway, failed to yield the right of way from a private driveway and entered the roadway.
Farris was struck and thrown from the ATV. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Madison County Justice of the Peace Jon Stevens.
The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
No additional details were provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
