San Antonio, TX – Two people were killed following a traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle that was involved in a high-speed chase in San Antonio on Tuesday, according to the China Grove Police Department.

According to the police, the incident stemmed from a chase with law enforcement at around 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 13.
Authorities said the China Grove police were surveilling a staging known area for stolen vehicles, including motorcycles, use of illegal drugs, and the exchange of contraband.

The surveillance officers noticed three motorcycles exiting the area and one of those motorcycles pulled off from the group into another area of interest and then returned to FM 1346, police said.
When the motorcyclists realized they were being followed, the rider who had previously broken away from the others sped off, while the two other riders tried to cause interference.

There was a traffic backup at the intersection of Loop 1604 and Graytown Road and the rider chose to run a red light and was hit broadside by a vehicle operated by Michael Husky, 44.

Husky was killed in the incident. The rider, identified as 40-year-old Larry Nees, was also killed in the crash.
Authorities said the motorcycle involved in the crash had been reported stolen in Bexar County on July 29.

Reportedly, authorities collected two handguns, drugs, and drug paraphernalia from the motorcycle and the scene.

Authorities said Larry Nees, who is known as a repeat offender, was wanted in Bexar County on drug trafficking warrants.
