Rider Dies in Westheimer Road Crash near Highway 6
Houston, Texas (April 28, 2017) – A motorcycle rider died early Friday morning when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver, according to Houston Police Department.
The deadly incident occurred on Westheimer Road east of Highway 6 just before 1 a.m. today, according to the report.
According to the report, a pickup truck reportedly crossed over the center median and entered the eastbound lanes. The wrong-way pickup truck struck a motorcycle head-on.
The rider was rushed to a hospital where he died.
All eastbound lanes of the Westheimer remained closed until about 6:30 a.m. when the roadway reopened.
The incident remains under investigation, and the police are looking for the hit-and-run driver.
