Officer Injured in Crash at Trinity and Woodlawn in San Antonio

San Antonio, Texas – An SAPD officer was injured Tuesday morning after a patrol cruiser was struck by a stolen vehicle in San Antonio’s Westside, according to the police.

The crash happened on April 9, at Trinity and Woodlawn.

Police said an officer was returning to the station after handling a disturbance call when they struck a vehicle on the driver’s side that had run a red light.

The officer sustained minor injuries and might have been taken to the hospital.

The other vehicle had been reported stolen and contained two teenagers.

The teens were detained and each claimed not to be the driver. They said a third person fled the vehicle but the authorities did not find anyone else.

The teenagers sustained minor injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
