Priscilla Martinez Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident on Avenue Q in Lubbock

Gloria Valdez Killed in Lubbock Pedestrian Accident on Avenue Q near Hood Park; Priscilla Martinez Arrested
Lubbock, Texas (May 22, 2019) – A woman has been arrested in connection to the fatal hit-and-run accident that happened last week Tuesday night in Lubbock, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened at about 11:00 p.m. May 14, on Avenue Q near Hood Park.
Police said 52-year-old Gloria Valdez was hit by a vehicle in the 2700 block of Avenue Q. The driver fled the scene after the accident.
Valdez was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An older model silver Chevrolet Suburban believed to have been involved in the accident was found parked at the Motel 6 located at 909 66th Street.
The suspect, Priscilla Martinez, 39, had been in the Lubbock County Detention Center since May 20th after being arrested for an unrelated charge. She was charged with a second-degree felony of failure to stop and render aid.
The crash remains under investigation.
