Rhoena Hopkins ID’d as Brenham Woman Killed in Brazos County 2-Vehicle Crash on Texas 21 near Texas 47
Brazos County, Texas (August 24, 2018) – The Brenham woman who was killed in a two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon in Brazos County has been identified as Rhoena Hopkins, 75, the authorities said.
The collision happened at about 12:10 p.m. August 23, on Texas 21 near Texas 47.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a tractor-trailer and an SUV driven by Hopkins were both heading eastbound on the highway. As the truck approached the slowing SUV, the SUV tried to make a left turn and cross the highway when it was hit by the truck.
Hopkins was declared dead at the scene.
The collision blocked the eastbound lanes of Texas 21 for an unknown period. The lanes were later reopened.
DPS is investigating the crash.
