Female Driver Rosa Luna Dies One Day after Multi-Vehicle Wreck on I-10 in El Paso
El Paso, Texas (November 14, 2017)- According to a police report, a woman who was critically injured in a multi-vehicle collision in El Paso Thursday last week has succumbed to injuries.
The crash occurred on Thursday, November 9, on Interstate 10.
According to investigators report, a 2011 International semi-truck with a flatbed trailer driven by Gary McDaniel, failed to reduce speed to a traffic backup, therefore, hitting a 2015 Toyota RAV4 driven by Rosa Luna.
Authorities said the impact of the first collision caused Luna’s vehicle to crash into a 1996 Chevrolet Astro driven by Jesus Sanchez, 2015 Dodge Charger operated by Yolanda Morgan, 2009 Nissan Sentra and a 2006 Nissan Altima that had slowed down in the far-right eastbound lane due to a traffic jam.
Police said a 2006 Western Star semi-truck and a 2015 utility truck which were heading east in the lane next to the far right path were also hit by two of the vehicles in the initial crash.
According to a police report, Luna suffered critical injuries following the accident and succumbed to her injuries on Friday, November 10.
Sanchez and Morgan were injured in the crash and were transported to Del Sol Medical Center for medical attention.
According to a report, the collision closed down I-10 east at Yarbrough for several hours on Thursday after McDaniel failed to control his speed causing a pileup.
