Arlington, TX – Two people were injured early Friday after a wrong-way driver crashed into an 18-wheeler on I-30 in Arlington police said.

The accident happened at about 3 a.m. on westbound I-30 at Six Flags Drive.

A preliminary investigation showed that a 2012 Acura TL was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 30. A westbound 18-wheeler swerved to avoid the Acura, but the Acura’s driver also swerved and the two vehicles collided.

DWI Driver Critically Injured in Arlington Wrong-Way Accident Early Friday

The Acura’s driver was critically injured in the accident while the 18-wheeler driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Both drivers were transported to the hospital.

Authorities believe the Acura driver was intoxicated at the time of the incident, and DWI charges are pending.
