Yutae Kim Killed in Plane Crash in Inez

Yutae Kim ID’d as Pilot Killed in Inez Plane Crash

Inez, Texas (December 12, 2019) – The person who was killed Monday night in a plane crash in Inez has been identified as 61-year-old Yutae Kim of Arlington, Texas, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 8:02 p.m. on December 9.

Authorities said Kim was piloting a Cessna 208 caravan from Martin Air contracted by UPS, and he departed from Victoria Regional Airport en route to Houston. Air traffic control team lost visibility of the aircraft, and it crashed.

Officials said Kim knew there was an issue with the plane, and he attempted to return to Victoria Regional Airport, but he didn’t make. 

The wreckage was located off of Benbow Road down Church Lane and on privately owned property.

Kim was killed in the crash. He was the only occupant of the aircraft.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
