Alex Martinez Jr., Killed in Winkler County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 302

Winkler County, Texas (February 2, 2022) – An Odessa man was killed Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Winkler County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on January 31, on Highway 302, just east of Kermit.

Authorities said Alex Martinez Jr was driving a semi-truck eastbound on the highway and traffic in front of him had stopped and he didn’t realize.

Martinez swerved to avoid the stopped vehicles, drove into the westbound lanes, and sideswiped another semi-truck.

Martinez Jr was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver was uninjured in the crash.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
