Alexcia Tarwater-Enns Seriously Injured in Midland Crash on State Highway 158 and Tom Craddick Highway

Midland County, Texas (June 4, 2022) – Alexcia Tarwater-Enns, 23, of Seminole, was seriously injured after being involved in a deadly crash Friday afternoon near Midland.

The wreck happened shortly before 4:50 p.m. Friday, June 3, at State Highway 158 and the Tom Craddick Highway, approximately 6 miles west of Midland.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Diego Jay Cota, 23, of Artesia, New Mexico, was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe on a service road of the Tom Craddick Highway when he failed to yield at the stop intersection.

Cota’s Santa Fe was then hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was traveling on State Highway 158.

Cota died at the scene.

Tarwater-Enns, who was the driver of the Grand Cherokee, was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

Two passengers in the Grand Cherokee, a woman and a 3-year-old child, also from Seminole, were taken to Midland Memorial Hospital, where they are in stable condition.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
