Ana Argueta ID’d as Woman Killed in Southwest Austin Pedestrian Accident on Texas 71

Austin, Texas (December 27, 2019) – The woman who was hit and killed by a vehicle last week Thursday morning in Southwest Austin has been identified as Ana Argueta, 62, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 6:51 a.m. December 19, in the 7600 block of Texas 71 near Scenic Brook Drive outside of Oak Hill.

Police said Argueta was attempting to walk from the southbound curb line to the northbound curb line of the highway when she was hit by a Dodge Ram truck.

Argueta was not at a crosswalk at the time of the crash. She was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators said poor lighting from it being early in the morning was a factor in the crash.
