Angelina Martinez and Carlos Morante Identified as Two Drivers Killed in San Antonio Crash on Wurzbach Parkway

San Antonio, Texas (October 11, 2022) – Authorities have identified the two drivers who died early Sunday morning following a head-on, wrong-way crash in San Antonio as Angelina “Lina” Martinez, 21, and Carlos Morante.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the deadly crash occurred at about 3:20 a.m. Sunday, October 9, in the 12500 block of Wurzbach Parkway.

San Antonio police said a blue Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by Morante, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Wurzbach Parkway when it collided head-on with a yellow Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Martinez.

Morante and Martinez were pronounced dead at the scene. A front-seat passenger in Martinez’s vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Martinez was a volleyball player and student-athlete at Our Lady of the Lake University.

The crash remains under investigation.
