Anthony Acosta Killed in Motorcycle Crash on FM 400 in Hale County

Anthony Acosta Killed in Hale County Motorcycle Crash on FM 400 near FM 3183

Hale County, Texas (September 5, 2022) – A 20-year-old man was killed Friday night in a motorcycle crash in Hale County, according to the DPS.

The deadly crash occurred on September 2, on FM 400, near the intersection of FM 3183.

DPS said Anthony Ray Acosta, 20, of Plainview, was riding a motorcycle southbound on the highway while Jorge Luis Riojas, 31, of Plainview, was driving a pickup truck and was stopped at the intersection, waiting to turn.

Riojas turned into the intersection, failed to yield the right of way, and collided with the motorcycle.

Acosta was pronounced dead at the scene.

Riojas was airlifted to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

The conditions were dry and cloudy at the time of the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
