Anthony Golibart Killed in Martin County Motorcycle Crash on SH 176 at CR 2601; Christopher Carman Arrested

Martin County, Texas (June 10, 2022) – A man was killed Monday afternoon in a hit-and-run accident in Martin County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 1:10 p.m., June 6, on SH 176 at CR 2601, 8 miles west of Tarzan.

DPS said a Freightliner truck tractor with a trailer turned northbound on CR 2601 and rear-ended a motorcycle ridden by 59-year-old Anthony Paul Golibart of San Antonio.

Golibart was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Freightliner driver, 28-year-old Christopher Carman of Odessa, fled the scene after the accident. He was arrested and booked into the Martin County Jail for Felony Accident Involving a Personal Injury or Death.

The Texas DPS is investigating the crash.
