Anthony Michael Lara Killed in Amarillo Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 27

Amarillo, Texas (March 14, 2021) – Two people were killed Saturday morning in a head-on collision in Amarillo, a local news source reported.

The fatal crash happened around 1:56 a.m., March 13, in the 8500 block of Interstate 27.

According to the report, a 2006 Nissan Armada was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the interstate when it crashed head-on into a northbound 2012 Nissan Murano.

The Armada driver, Anthony Michael Lara, and the Murano driver, a male, were pronounced dead at the scene. 

Officers said alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.

The Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department is investigating the crash.
