Anthony Ukadibia Killed in Car Crash on East Slaughter Lane in Southeast Austin

Anthony Ukadibia ID’d as Man Killed in Southeast Austin Car Crash on East Slaughter Lane

Austin, Texas (August 22, 2019) – The man who was killed Monday night in a traffic collision in Southeast Austin has been identified as Anthony Ukadibia,47, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 7:58 p.m. August 19, at 515 East Slaughter Lane, just east of Interstate 35 South.

Police said Ukadibia was leaving an apartment complex when he honked at the vehicle in front of him as he waited to turn left. That vehicle didn’t move and Ukadibia drove around and tried to cross the eastbound lanes of Slaughter Lane.

Ukadibia failed to yield to the right-of-way and was hit by an eastbound white 2000 four-door Mercury.

Ukadibia was ejected from the vehicle and hit by a 2011 Ford F150. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Ukadibia was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, where he was declared dead at the scene.

Another man in his 40s was taken to the hospital with potentially serious injuries.

The drivers of the Mercury and the Ford remained at the scene after the crash.
