Antonio Perez Jr Killed and Anthony Luna Injured in Martin County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 349

Martin County, Texas (June 25, 2021) – One person was killed and another was injured on Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in Martin County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 4:40 a.m., on June 24, on State Highway 349, north of Midland.

DPS said Anthony Luna, 27, was driving a pickup truck when he crashed into an 18-wheeler that had failed to yield the right of way as it was turning onto the highway from a private drive.

Antonio Perez Jr., 41, of Lubbock, who was a passenger in the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

Luna was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The 18-wheeler driver, Adrian Sanchez, 53, of Fort Stockton, was uninjured in the crash.

Everyone was wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
