Antonio Thomas Killed in Hardin County Pedestrian Accident on US 69

Hardin County, Texas (July 17, 2021) – According to the Texas DPS, a man was killed early Thursday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Hardin County.

The deadly accident happened around 3:00 a.m., July 15, on US 69, about two miles south of Kountze.

DPS said Antonio Thomas, 51, of Silsbee, was struck by an unknown vehicle on the highway.

The vehicle fled the scene after the accident.

Thomas was found lying in the southbound lane and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The troopers are investigating the crash. Anyone with any information about the accident is asked to call the Texas Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Communications facility in Lufkin at (936) 699-7340.
