Aric Maxwell ID’d as Man Killed in East Austin Pedestrian Collision on I-35 at 51st Street

Austin, Texas (April 23, 2019) – The man who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Sunday morning in east Austin has been identified as Aric Maxwell, 46, according to the Austin police.
The incident took place in the 5100 block of I-35 at 51st Street on Sunday, April 21.
Police said Maxwell was attempting to cross the highway when he was hit by a silver Chevy Equinox traveling in the southbound side.
Maxwell was in critical condition as he was being transported to Dell Seton Medical Center. The victim was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The involved driver stayed at the scene. Police said impairment was unlikely a factor in the collision.
The authorities are conducting an investigation into the crash.
