Athens, Texas (June 3, 2020) – Three people were injured Saturday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Athens, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened around 5:45 p.m. May 30, at the intersection of FM 2494 and FM 753.

DPS said Armando Mandujano, 53 of Malakoff, was driving a silver 2016 Dodge pickup westbound on FM 2494 while Christopher Marshall, 26 of Athens, was driving a silver 2003 Dodge pickup southbound on FM 753.

Mandujano ran a red light at the intersection, and the two vehicles collided.

The 2016 Dodge pickup truck came to rest in the westbound ditch of FM 753 while the 2003 Dodge pickup came to rest in a field on the west side of FM 753.

Mandujano, Marshall, and his passenger Sierra Bradley, 20 of Chandler, were taken to UT Health with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
