Artemio Torres Hit, Killed by Truck on FM 624 and FM 666 in Corpus Christi

Artemio Torres Killed in Corpus Christi Pedestrian Accident on FM 624 and FM 666

Corpus Christi, Texas – One person was killed Monday evening in a pedestrian accident in Corpus Christi, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 7:20 p.m., February 5, on FM 624 and FM 666.

DPS said Artemio Calles Torres, 63, was attempting to pick up his dog from the westbound lane of the road when he was hit by a Jeep Gladiator.

The Jeep driver did try to stop and swerved to avoid Torres, but was unsuccessful. The driver and other motorists stopped to help Torres and called 9-1-1. 

Torres was pronounced dead at the scene.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
