Arthur Simmons ID’d as Man Killed in Silsbee Two-Vehicle Crash on Hwy 96 and Nerren Drive
Silsbee, Texas (December 31, 2019) – The man who was killed Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at a Silsbee intersection has been identified as Arthur Simmons, 83, of Buna, according to the police.
The fatal crash happened around 12:30 p.m. on December 21, at the intersection of Hwy 96 and Nerren Drive.
Police said Simmons was driving a silver Toyota SUV when he pulled out in front of a northbound 2000 model gray Chevrolet 4 door passenger car driven by Ian Tate, 22, of Silsbee, and the two vehicles collided.
Simmons was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Toyota, a 76-year-old Orange woman, was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth in Beaumont for treatment.
Tate and his 21-year-old female passenger from Silsbee were taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in unknown conditions.
The crash remains under investigation.
