Arturo Galindo Killed in Auto-Yard Crash on W. Canino Road in Houston

Arturo Galindo Killed, Miguel Angel Garcia Critically Injured in Houston Auto-Yard Crash on W. Canino Road

Houston, Texas (December 20, 2019) – A man was killed, and another was critically injured in an auto-yard crash Tuesday evening in Houston, according to the deputies.

The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. December 17, at 320 W. Canino Road.

Deputies said Arturo Galindo and Miguel Angel Garcia were working on a Honda Civic at Arturo’s Garage Auto Mechanics. Galindo was positioned under the vehicle, which was elevated by jack stands, and Garcia was standing in front of it. As they were working on the vehicle, it was struck by a white Ford Econoline van.

The impact caused the Honda to fall off the jack stands and land on top of Galindo before hitting Garcia.

Galindo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Garcia was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition.

The van driver jumped into another vehicle and fled the scene.

The deputies are investigating the crash.
