Arturo Meza Seriously Injured in Rollover Crash on South Desert in El Paso

Arturo Meza Seriously Injured in El Paso Two-Vehicle Crash on South Desert

El Paso, Texas (December 14, 2019) – A man was seriously injured in a rollover crash Thursday night in West El Paso, according to the police.

The crash occurred at about 9:14 p.m. December 12, in the 6300 block of South Desert.

Police said Arturo Meza, 22, was driving a 2008 Hummer H-3 when he tried to pass a 2018 Honda Pilot driven by Jose Martinez, 48. The Hummer sideswiped the Pilot, causing the Hummer to swerve out of control, crash, and rollover severally.

Meza was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 15-year-old boy was also taken to the hospital as a precaution. Another passenger fled the scene.

Martinez was uninjured in the crash.

Investigators said speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

The police are investigating the crash.
