Smith County, Texas (August 26, 2021) – According to a local news source, at least one person was killed on Wednesday in a traffic accident involving an 18-wheeler in Smith County.

The crash happened on FM 346, on August 25.

According to the report, the crash involved an 18-wheeler and a truck.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment, where at least one of them later died.

The crash closed the bridge over FM 346. Both the northbound and southbound lanes were diverted off the highway and around the bridge back onto US 69.

Motorists were urged to seek alternate routes.

The crash remains under investigation.
