Aurelia Clark Killed, Ellen Daugherty Injured in Two-Car Crash on US 277 in Taylor County

Aurelia Clark Killed and Ellen Daugherty Seriously Injured in Taylor County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 277

Taylor County, Texas (July 6, 2022) – A woman was killed, and another was seriously injured on Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash in Taylor County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on July 5, on US Highway 277, 14 miles southwest of Abilene.

DPS said Aurelia L. Clark, 47, was driving southbound on the highway while Ellen D. Daugherty, 53, of Abilene, was driving an SUV northbound.

Daugherty failed to maintain the lane and hit Clark’s car.

Clark was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Daugherty was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
