Austin Ards Severely Injured in Spring Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 45 and Sawdust

Spring, Texas (June 18, 2021) – According to the authorities, a man was severely injured Saturday night in a hit-and-run crash in Spring.

The accident happened around 9:10 p.m., June 12, on Interstate 45 and Sawdust.

Authorities said Austin Ards, 26, of Spring, had pulled over on the shoulder of the interstate when he was hit by a white Chevy or GMC work van.

The vehicle fled the scene after the accident.

Investigators said the vehicle has front-end damage and is missing the right-side mirror. 

Ards was taken to the hospital with severe injuries.

An investigation is underway. Anyone with any information about the accident is asked to call multi-city Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP.
