A’zyrria Murphy-Jones Killed in Walker County Pedestrian Accident on FM 1696

Walker County, Texas (July 8, 2022) – An 11-year-old girl was killed last week in a hit-and-run accident in Walker County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, in the 200 block of FM 1696, two miles outside of Huntsville.

DPS said A’zyrria Murphy-Jones, 11, was walking along the highway when she was hit by an unknown vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the accident.

Murphy-Jones was killed in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash. Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to call the Walker County/Huntsville Crime Stoppers at 936-294-9494. Callers remain anonymous and could receive a $1,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest or indictment of those responsible.
