Baldemar Zurita Killed in Odessa Pedestrian Accident at Moss Avenue and Third Street

Odessa, Texas (April 1, 2022) – One person was killed Thursday morning in a pedestrian accident in Odessa, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 6:17 a.m., March 31, at the intersection of Moss Avenue and Third Street.

DPS said two vehicles collided at the intersection, and one of the drivers, Baldemar Zurita, 61, of Rio Grande City, Texas, got out of his vehicle and walked into the southbound lane.

Zurita was then hit by a third car that was trying to avoid hitting a wrecked vehicle that was involved in the previous crash.

Zurita was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
