Barbara Cruea Killed in Two-Car Crash on Loop 281 in Longview

Barbara Cruea ID’d as Woman Killed in Longview Two-Vehicle Crash on Loop 281

Longview, Texas (September 23, 2019) – The woman who was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Friday in Longview has been identified as Barbara Cruea, 74, of Longview, according to the police.

The crash happened on Friday, September 20, on Loop 281 between Gilmer Road and Bill Owens Parkway.

Police said Cruea exited a private drive and traveled northbound across three lanes of traffic in a try to enter the left-turn lane. She failed to yield to the right-of-way and traveled into the path of an eastbound vehicle, resulting in a collision.

Cruea was taken to Longview Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The other driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash temporarily closed westbound Loop 281.

The crash remains under investigation.
