Benjamin Arguello Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 60 near Friona

22-Year-Old Benjamin Arguello Killed Friona Crash on U.S. 60

Friona, Texas (July 26, 2019) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Thursday afternoon near Friona in Parmer County, according to the DPS.

The wreck happened at about 2:20 p.m. Thursday, July 25, on U.S. 60.

DPS said a tractor-trailer driven by Jerry Varnell, 71, of Portales, New Mexico, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 60 when it collided with a 1997 Chevrolet  Silverado pickup that was trying to turn left onto westbound U.S. 60.

The driver of the pickup, Benjamin Arguello, 22, of Clovis, NM, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash is under investigation.
