48-Year-Old Benjamin Lloyd Injured in Midway Road Collision in Big Spring

Big Spring, Texas (July 23, 2022) – Benjamin David Lloyd, 48, was injured after he was involved in a traffic accident that killed a Big Spring man on Tuesday morning near Big Spring.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the deadly crash happened just after 7:00 a.m., July 19, on North Midway Road, northeast of Big Spring.

DPS said 26-year-old Tristen Anderson of Big Spring was driving a 2001 Toyota 4Runner southbound while Lloyd, a resident of Jacksonville, Florida, was driving a 2015 Freightliner tractor hauling trailer northbound.

Anderson failed to give half of the roadway to the Freightliner and collided head-on with the front of the Freightliner.

Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Lloyd was transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

The DPS is investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
