Benny Reed Killed in Rear-End Crash on U.S 59 in Houston

Benny Reed ID’d as Person Killed in Houston Car Crash on U.S 59 (Southwest Freeway)
Harris County, Texas (February 16, 2019) – The person who was killed late last month in a traffic crash in  Houston has been identified as Benny Reed, 61, according to police.
The horrible crash took place at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday, January 26 in the 2500 block of U.S. 59. U.S. 59 is also known as the Southwest Freeway.
Police said Reed was driving his Toyota Corolla in the westbound lanes of U.S. 59 when for an unknown reason he crashed into the back of a Lexus ES350 sedan.
Reed was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, February 3. The name and condition of the driver of the Lexus were not immediately provided.
Investigators believed distraction might have been the cause of the wreck. An investigation into the crash is underway.
