Bexar County Deputy Injured in San Antonio Motorcycle Crash at Somerset and Old Somerset Road

San Antonio, Texas (April 23, 2022) – A Bexar County deputy was injured Thursday afternoon after his motorcycle was hit by an 18-wheeler as he escorted a funeral procession in San Antonio, according to the authorities.

The crash happened just before noon, April 21, in the area of Somerset and Old Somerset Road. 

Authorities said the deputy was guiding the funeral procession when he was rear-ended by an 18-wheeler. The impact knocked the motorcycle into a guardrail.

The deputy suffered a broken leg, a broken ankle, rib fractures, and some road rash.

No other information was available.

An investigation is underway.
