Man Killed in Austin Bicycle Accident at San Jacinto Boulevard and 23rd Street

Austin, Texas (January 29, 2019) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a Capital Metro bus at the University of Texas Austin campus on Monday night.
According to the Austin-Travis County EMS, the crash happened shortly after 10:30 p.m. January 28 at San Jacinto Boulevard and 23rd Street.
The medics said the bicyclist and the bus were heading northbound when the bus hit the man and pinned him underneath.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not identify the victim pending notification of the next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation.
