Man Killed in San Antonio Bicycle Accident on U.S. Highway 181

San Antonio, Texas (June 23, 2019) – A man pushing a bicycle was hit and killed by a car Saturday morning in San Antonio, a local news source reported.

The deadly accident took place around 10:16 a.m. June 22, in the 11700 block of U.S. Highway 181 South.

Police said the man was pushing his bicycle across the northwest bound traffic lanes of the highway when he was hit by a 2016 Jeep Renegade. The impact threw the bicyclist to the right side of the roadway.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed.

The Jeep driver stayed at the scene after the accident.

Officers said intoxication and distracted driving were not factors in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
