Bicyclist Hit, Seriously Injured by Vehicle on Fairmeadows Street in San Antonio

Rider Hospitalized after San Antonio Bicycle Accident on Fairmeadows Street

San Antonio, Texas (May 4, 2022) – A bicyclist delivering meals is in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning in San Antonio, authorities said.

The bicycle accident took place at about 3:00 a.m. in the 3300 block of Fairmeadows Street on the South side of town.

First responders arrived at the scene of the accident and found a 54-year-old man suffering from major injuries. He told the authorities that he is a Meals on Wheels courier and was delivering food when a vehicle struck him. Trays of food were scattered on the street after the crash.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the involved vehicle did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene. There was no description of the suspect’s vehicle or driver.

Police are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.

The crash remains under investigation.
