One Injured in Bell County Bicycle Accident on Nolan Loop

Bell County, Texas (December 31, 2019) – One person was injured in a bicycle accident Monday evening in Bell County, according to the DPS.

The crash occurred on Monday, December 30, on Nolan Loop Road, just east of the City of Nolanville.

DPS said Rebecca Lou Casilhas, 56, of Belton, was driving a 2010 Hyundai four-door passenger car westbound on Nolan Loop Road while a bicycle was also heading westbound.

Casilhas said her vision was impaired by the setting sun, and she didn’t see the bicycle. The Hyundai rear-ended the bicycle, ejecting the bicyclist.

The victim was taken to Scott and White ER in Temple with an incapacitating injury.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
