Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Foy Street in Houston

62-Year-Old Man Killed in Houston Bicycle Accident on Foy Street near Charter Oaks Drive

Houston, Texas (March 3, 2023) – A bicyclist died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday morning in Houston, according to Houston police.

The deadly crash happened at around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, in the 10800 block of Foy Street near Charter Oaks Drive in the Eastex/Jensen area.

Houston police said a 62-year-old man was riding his bicycle on Foy Street when he was hit by a tan Lincoln Continental that was traveling northbound.

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

The driver did not stop and kept going to his residence with the bicycle stuck under the front of his car. Police later located the suspect at his home in the 3200 block of Cedar Hill Lane.

The hit-and-run suspect was eventually arrested. He was not drunk at the time of the accident.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
