Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Moffett Road in Lufkin

Man Killed in Lufkin Bicycle Accident on Moffett Road (Loop 287)

Lufkin, Texas (May 9, 2021) – According to officials, a bicyclist was killed early Saturday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Lufkin.

The deadly accident was reported around 3:45 a.m., May 8, on Loop 287’s Moffett Road overpass.

Officials said a man was riding a bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle.

The vehicle fled the scene after the accident.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

An investigation is underway. Anyone with any information about the suspect and suspect vehicle is asked to call the department at 633-0356 or Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous at 639-TIPS.
