Blondria Dee Griffin Killed in Car Accident on Highway 69 in Cherokee County

Blondria Dee Griffin ID’d as Woman Killed in Cherokee County Crash on Highway 69 near Alto

Cherokee County, Texas (June 7, 2019) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the woman who was killed Thursday afternoon in a traffic accident in Cherokee County.

Blondria Dee Griffin, 55, of Alto, died in the wreck that occurred Thursday, June 6 on Highway 69, approximately a mile and a half north of Alto.

According to the DPS, Benjamin James Tissee, 29, of Waxahachie, was driving a 2011 Ford F-150 northbound on Highway 69 in the inside lane behind a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo operated by Griffin.

Griffin then slowed her vehicle to turn left at the intersection of County Road 2236 and was rear-ended by Tissee, who failed to control his speed.

Griffin was transported to UT Health Jacksonville, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

It was immediately unclear if Tissee was injured in the accident.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
