Boy Killed in Truck Crash on FM 121 and Edwards Road in Van Alstyne

3-Year-Old Boy Killed, Several Others Injured in Van Alstyne Crash on FM 121 and Edwards Road
Van Alstyne, Texas (January 21, 2019) – A young boy was killed and several other people were injured when a truck and an SUV collided Sunday afternoon in Van Alstyne, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident took place just after 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20 on FM 121 and Edwards Road.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a black SUV driven by an Anna woman was traveling westbound on FM 121 when for an unknown reason it veered off the road.
The SUV then over-corrected and was sideswiped on the driver’s side by a truck that was traveling eastbound.
The woman and her two kids were in the SUV.  Her three-year-old boy was airlifted to a Dallas hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The woman and her other 1-year-old child were both transported to a Sherman hospital with unspecified injuries.
A man and a woman, who were occupants in the truck, were both transported by a ground ambulance to a hospital in unknown condition. They are both residents of Trenton.
No other details regarding the accident were immediately available.
DPS is investigating the accident.
