Bradly Lara Killed in Bowie County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 82 near US 259

Bowie County, Texas (August 16, 2021) – According to the Texas DPS, a man was killed Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Bowie County.

The fatal crash happened around 7:00 a.m., August 14, on US 82, just west of US 259.

DPS said Bradly Lara, 44, of New Boston, was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on the highway when he turned into a parking lot, failed to yield the right-of-way, and was struck by an eastbound 2001 Peterbilt truck-tractor towing a trailer, driven by Jason McManus, 42, of Columbia, La.

Lara was pronounced dead at the scene.

McManus was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
